I wanted to register as soon as possible, in hopes that many items might go on sale after the holidays. At first, Douglas wanted no part of the registry, and I practically had to drag him downtown to get started.
Our first stop was Williams Sonoma on Union Square. This is their flagship store, and it has everything you can imagine spread out over three huge floors. We went straight to the third floor where the registry desk was located. The sales clerk who helped us was wonderful. She actually seemed genuinely excited for us.
Doug was still dragging his feet, until she pulled out the scanner gun. Hmm, maybe this could be fun after all. How quickly things can change! We scanned our way down to the first floor and back up again. I still have no idea what is on our registry. I think Doug scanned the entire store. After about two hours, we finally found our way out the front door.
I didn’t think it possible but we ended up setting up our registry in Create & Barrel that same day. Who knew we would have so much fun? Thanks to modern technology, even Doug had a great time zapping everything with those stupid scanners!
